WELCOME TO ST. PAUL LUTHERAN CHURCH!
St. Paul Lutheran Church was founded in 1871 by German immigrants. Much has changed since then, but our mission remains the same: Marked by the cross of Christ forever through Baptism, we are claimed, gathered, and sent for the sake of the Gospel.
We are faithful to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and offer education ministries that proclaim the grace and love of God. We provide meaningful, creative, and inspirational worship services. Through the Holy Spirit we create faith in those who worship here and reach out to all those who do not have a church home in Postville to invite them to share in the Gospel of Jesus Christ and our church
community.
WE ARE CHURCH TOGETHER
As Lutherans, we believe God is calling us into the world - together. We are a congregation of people brought together by the Holy Spirit to do God's work and serve the world.
St. Paul Lutheran Church is part of a regional body, the Northeastern Iowa Synod, which is part of a national body the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, which is a part of an international body the Lutheran World Federation, which is a member of the World Council of Churches, which is part of God's one holy, catholic, and apostolic church.
As a church rooted in Christ, we are called to work together with other churches, ministries, and organizations to serve our neighbors together.
The ELCA is divided into 65 synods across the country. Our congregation in Postville, Iowa, partners with 150 other congregations and approximately 73,500 other Lutherans to make up the Northeastern Iowa Synod.
Our congregation also supports a Bible Camp here in Iowa, Camp Ewalu in Strawberry Point. We support the work of Lutheran Services in Iowa (LSI), particularly their Bremwood Campus for youth residential treatment in Waverly.
